Vyda doesn't do subtlety. She's in her late twenties, Southern-raised, and has the kind of clarity that only comes from having been through it — and deciding she's done pretending otherwise. Her music sits at the intersection of Hip Hop and R&B, where a beat hits hard and the words hit harder.

Silas Crow is a Southern blues artist with a voice that sounds like it came up through the floorboards — worn down by time, soaked in bourbon, and more honest than most people can stand. Mixed heritage, greying dreads, and a guitar that's been through more than he'll tell you about.
His sound sits in the tradition of the Delta blues but with Southern rock edges — raw, slow, and unhurried. He writes songs about love gone wrong, decisions he can't take back, and the peculiar Southern grace of sitting with the damage you've done.

Black Soil Records was founded in 2026 on a simple conviction: the South has always been where American music comes from. Blues, soul, gospel, Hip Hop, R&B — trace any of it back far enough and you end up in Southern soil. Red clay, pine forests, Delta flatlands, city blocks. The same ground, different generations, different sounds.
The label takes its name from that soil — the rich, dark earth that has fed American music for over a century. Black Soil Records doesn't claim one genre. It claims the source. Whatever comes from that place, raw and real and Southern, belongs here.
The label launched in 2026 as an independent Southern label with a roster that spans Hip Hop, R&B, Blues, and Soul. Our artists don't share a genre — they share a geography, a history, and a way of making music that goes all the way down to the root.
